Fuel Filters
Fuel filter is installed in the fuel system to filter out foreign particles, impurities and moisture in the fuel required for engine combustion to prevent accelerated cylinder wear, oil circuit blockage, fuel injector damage, etc., and ensure the smooth operation of the fuel supply system.
FUEL FILTER TYPES
As engines are divided into gasoline engines and diesel engines, therefore, fuel filters are divided into gasoline filters and diesel filters accordingly.

Design and Operation of Diesel Filter With Nylon Water Bowl
1. Gasket: It ensures a tight connection between the diesel filter and the assembly to resist changing pressure and mechanical loads, and no leakage occurs even at extreme temperatures.
2. Shell threaded cover plate: Used to seal the filter element into the shell, prevent the gasket sealing surface from deflecting (moving) and provide a strong threaded connection to the assembly.
3. Filter element metal end caps: It consists of a top cap and a bottom cap to connect the filter element together.
4. Pleated filter media: Offer a larger filtration area and a higher dirt holding capacity.
5. Inner support tube: The center tube that supports the filter media and prevents it from collapsing.
6.Plastic coated metal shell: A container used to accommodate the filter element and maintain pressure operation.
7. O-ring: Ensure the tightness between the shell and water bowl.
8. Nylon water bowl: The transparent nylon water bowl is practically unbreakable, it allows you visually see the water level in the bowl so as to discharge water in a timely manner.

1. End caps: It consists of a top cap and a bottom cap. Generally, plastic end caps, non-woven fabric end caps and a combination of plastic and non-woven fabric end caps are provided.
2. Filter media: Pleated filter paper is used to remove impurities from the diesel.
3. Optional parts: The plastic inner tube serves as the inner support tube. Some eco-friendly diesel filters are provided with an inner tube in the center. While the others are not provided with an inner tube in the center, instead, the inner tube is integrated with end cap.

Metal Diesel Filter
Metal diesel filter generally consists of a top cap, a bottom cap, a layer offilter media, an inner support tube and an optional outer support tube. Whenreplacing the metal diesel filter, only the filter element needs to be replaced.
1. Metal end caps: It consists of a top cap and a end cap to connect the filterelement together.
2. Filter media: Pleated filter paper is used to filter out impurities in the
engine fuel.
3. Inner support tube: perforated metal tube is generally selected as the innersupport tube of the filter element.
4. Optional outer support tube: Used to support and protect the filter
element, it is generally made of perforated metal mesh. In addition, expandedmetal mesh is also a good choice for outer support tube.
